Have Fun in Plymouth this Saturday, May 2.

Lots of action in Plymouth, Ca this weekend. Start your day with breakfast at the Plymouth Main Street Flea Market while looking for rusty stuff, barn orphans, garage rejects, collectibles and treasures. Main St will be blocked off end to end for your enjoyment from 8 am – 4 pm. Spend Saturday afternoon on the Amador County Fairground wine tasting at the 3rd Annual Taste of Gold from 1 pm to 5 pm. Enjoy Hot Rods & Classic Cars, Live Music and Art Show.
The weather should be cool so come on out and enjoy your weekend.

May 1 Entry Deadline for Amador County Scholarship Pageant

Hailey Harvey - 4th Runner Up

Entries are now being accepted for the popular Miss Amador scholarship competition scheduled for July 30th at the Amador County Fair on the Central House Stage.

Young women ages 16 – 23 have the opportunity to compete for scholarships and to represent Amador County and the Fair as ambassadors throughout the year. The women compete in the areas of community service and fair experience, a personal and fair industry interview focusing on the entrant’s sense of value, attitudes, goals and aspirations, communication skills before a live audience, and an on-stage presentation.

Scholarship awards will be: $2,000 to Miss Amador, $1,000 to the First Runner-Up, $750 to the Second Runner-Up, and $500 to the Third Runner-Up.

Entry forms for the pageants are available on-line at amadorcountyfair.com or from the Amador County Fair office at Sherwood and School Streets in Plymouth. They can also be found at local high schools. Completed entry forms are due in the Fair office by May 1, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. or more information call the Fair office at 209 245-6921.

3rd Annual Taste of Gold - Wine Tasting, Wineries of the Sierra Foothills, Hot Rods & Classic Cars, Live Music, Art Show

Hawaiian Recipes Featured at the Amador County Fair

Get out your Hawaiian Inspired Cook Books because we are going to have some Hukilau fun at the Amador County Fair!

Our Miss Louise Hall special contests this year feature Coconut Cream Pie, Chocolate Lava Cake, Macadamia Nut Cookies and for men only Hawaiian Short Ribs. For those who want to try their hand with flowers you may want to check out the Hawaiian Leis competition.

We are putting the finishing touches on the Exhibitor Guidebook and hope to have it posted to our web site by April 15, maybe sooner! Our online entries worked great last year and we are expanding our offerings. Watch this blog for more information.
